If you’re anything like me, when you started photography-specifically families- you might have had a bit of trouble figuring out how to photograph families with teens. Sometimes you work with families that come to their sessions, get all the photos they want, and hopefully wait until next year to meet with them again. Nothing more and nothing less. Just good company for the hour were together. But then there are those families that you absolutely gel with, knowing that we’re here for this hour session, but I’ll talk to you next week too! Gosh! I love “growing up” with my families! I started photographing Elizabeth, Derek and their boys in 2019 when little Barrett wanted NOTHING to do with me – haha! The kids were so much smaller then and now they’re tweens??! 2019 seems like a year ago when actually 4 years have passed! Anyone else feel that way?
Fall for photographers is filled with so many amazing golden hour family sessions, and EXHAUSTION! I won’t lie, I was tired entering this session with Laura and Bill. But when I tell you I left it so energized and ecstatic, I’m in no way exaggerating!
Andy, Jenna, and the Timboe kids are going to be one of my most missed families when I move! They are the epitome of go-with-the-flow, love-on-your-kids, and enjoy-the-moment kind of people that photographer dreams are made of! They always give me some of my favorite photos, and their Fort Collins family session was no different. Their oldest son Robbie started our first session two years ago by giving me the stink eye, and now I’m pretty sure we are besties!!
