I have such a special place in my heart for the military wives who venture into parenthood while their husbands are away. Being distanced is such an emotional time anyway, and I know it’s so difficult for both parents to walk through this season without being in the same room together. Planning an In-Home Fort Collins Newborn Photography Session with Mary was such a memorable experience for me. I was so honored to help her capture this time, and create some beautiful photos for her husband in his absence.
Mary Elizabeth is not only super mama, but such a very calming presence. Just taking this whole mama-gig in great stride with a smile. Of course their sweet family dog, Norman, joined in on the session, and was so gentle with their sweet boy. Norman loved being in on the action and sat around us everywhere we shot in their house. He watched me to make sure I was also gentle being around his new younger brother. I love seeing how much pets respond to these little newborns. I thought it was especially sweet since Mary’s husband was still deployed for this session.
The color scheme for the session was beautiful muted tones of both warm and cool colors. Mary’s neutral bedspread was the perfect spot to start their in-home newborn session before moving to a moody and intimate hallway with the most magical natural light.
I know her husband is just so anxious to get back home to this sweet boy and his beautiful wife. I’m so glad we could get these pictures for their fam, to never forget these precious moments. And Wyatt made his session just that much easier with his sweet disposition!
