I met Stephanie and Brian way back in 2019 when they came to Carlsbad for a visit. They originally booked a couples session with me, before this travel family session, but also let me know they were expecting – and wanted to do a gender reveal. Yay!!! To photograph their Boulder maternity session next was a dream!
They are one of those families that I continued to stay in touch with via Instagram and watching their sweet girl grow has been amazing! Fast forward 3 years and we are on the cusp of moving to Colorado, and while we were moving our oldest daughter into college there recently, we fit in another Boulder maternity session with Stephanie and Brian! They are waiting for their little boy’s arrival and it was amazing to catch up with them and officially meet their sweet girl Courtney! I’m already chomping at the bit to meet that sweet little brother after we move.
Thank goodness for local photographers who were willing to clue me in on some local spots that were absolute gems. We ended up at Shanahan Trail in Boulder and it was perfect. Just a few steps from street parking are evergreens, fields to run and play in and of course that beautiful golden light as the sun dips below the Flat Iron Mountains. I’ll be using this regularly for family, maternity and senior sessions in the future.
Getting to shoot a travel family session in Colorado was a dream, and I am so happy it was Stephanie, Brian and Courtney that were my first family. I’m so excited to shoot their on a regular basis in less than a year! See you all in Colorado soon!!
