When the Tai Family reached out to me about doing a family session at their home in Fort Collins, I was pumped! They said they wanted a laid back session that really documented their family life. (Sign me up!)
Plus, they had just renovated their kitchen, which is the central hub of their house so they wanted lifestyle pictures in there!
Anytime I have the privilege of documenting a family in an environment that is organic and real-life for them, I am excited about it. These photos are precious memories of your life, and the ones you’ll look back on in the years to come to fondly remember right now. I think it makes them even more meaningful to be in a place that is special to you. Whether that is a favorite park or beach, or an in-home session.
The Tai family decided to wear earth tone neutrals, and I thought they did a fantastic job coordinating outfits. Their home is full of beautiful neutral so the mustard yellow, deep red and dusty blues looked perfect.
We did most of their in-home shoot IN their house, but for a golden hour we snuck outside to an open area they often frequent. Those warm evening shots will always be some of my favorite. That light is so beautiful and the perfect spot to spend time together.
Then we ended the evening back in their kitchen for some last minute shots together.
Sessions like these remind me why I love being a Fort Collins lifestyle photographer and going outside of the box by doing in home sessions. I had such an amazing afternoon capturing the Tai family and all the sweet moments between them.
