We Didn’t Know What Cold Was – Newport, Rhode Island Family Photographer
I first met Christine briefly not long after we all moved here and she had just had their youngest daughter. I don’t hang out much at the playgrounds these days, but do miss those playground chats with other mamas and was introduced to her there. We chatted more when she asked me about doing family photos for their holiday card in December and I’m so glad I’ve been able to get to know their family more. They are beautiful inside and out.
Christine reminds me of one of my besties from Okinawa, Patti. She doesn’t get ruffled up by the little things and knows that life as a stay at home mama isn’t glamorous, but also her most important job right now. I love her sarcasm (we sarcastic folks tend to seek each other out!) and refreshingly, she and Aaron are very open about their faith too. I’ll always remember something she said to me last week regarding the stress of living on or off base when moving to a new duty station. “It’s all up to Him and we’ll live in the area where we can do the most good.” I’ve never looked at it that way, but now I will!
So the day we set out for photos back in December we thought was really horribly cold. Little did we know that currently the temps that day would feel like a nice warm afternoon! What a difference 3 months makes after going through weeks of subzero temps and feet of snow!
Poor Miss A was so cold, but such a trooper. Not once did she cry, but stood there shivering waiting for us all to be done with photos!
I’m pretty sure Abby and Timothy’s favorite part of the afternoon was a little rock throwing down at the bay. Everyone seemed to cheer up and not mind the cold quite as much when we ventured down that way.
Thank you so much Aaron and Christine!
