Sweet Sarah – Okinawa Maternity Photographer
I’ve discussed it many times about how our military friends become our family, especially here in Okinawa. I met Sarah and her family not long after they moved on our base in 2012. I remember vividly her neighbors saying “she has 3 kids, makes homemade snacks/meals and is just too nice to be true”! We all thought that at first – no way is someone truly this sweet and nice. Not true. Almost immediately she has been dubbed “Sweet Sarah” by all of us and that’s how she’s always referred to since then. She’s truly that sweet, nice and caring. Mother Earth too. She has the patience of a saint and I need to bottle some of that for myself.
Sarah is one of those people that after coming away from a conversation with her you feel upbeat and happy. There are those sayings all over Pinterest and Facebook about surrounding yourself with those people who bring out the positive in you and lift you higher. Sarah is most assuredly one of those people and I’m so glad we have become good friends. One of the things I love about Sarah is that she accepts me, even with my mouth of sailor and off the cuff sense of humor that tends to get me in trouble from time to time! She does not judge and still loves me and only gives me the occasional “oh Christa”.
Here in Okinawa our sunflower fields recently bloomed and they are just beautiful. Sarah is currently pregnant with baby #4 and with her cute baby bump and beautiful blonde hair I knew this would just be a perfect setting for some maternity photos. She happened to find this blue dress and it couldn’t have been a more perfect contrast in these fields. I’m so happy she was willing to go with me for some maternity practice and glad my thought came to reality – she is absolutely perfect for photos here. Mother Earth at it’s finest. I cannot wait to meet this baby girl – she is already so loved by her “aunts” here in Japan.
