Project 365 – Snow and Sugar – Newport, Rhode Island Family Photographer
There’s a theme happening here. I seem to blog these photos during snow storms and blizzards. I will lovingly look back at these posts in July with happiness that these temps and feet of snow are behind us!
What’s that? Another snow storm you say? With another day off of school? Why yes, yes it was. I ventured out for some snow photos though to try and make lemonade out of lemons and love the scene over at Touro Park here in Newport.
I think God knew that I was nearing my end of cold and snow and granted all of us this scene at sunset. Yes, I froze my tushy off going out to capture this, but I had to. Brought me so much joy and quenched my color side. Simply beautiful and can’t wait for summer sunsets before we leave this year.
With the arctic cold there has been lots of blanket time, slipper time and putting on 17 layers time. This blanket has been my new favorite since I received it last May from my amazing and talented friend Kassie. I miss my ladies from Okinawa everyday and wish they were all here so we could complain about the cold together and sunggle and watch nonsense tv like we used to. For now, my blanket will have to do…
Each and every neighborhood we move into I’m blessed with awesome neighbors that turn into awesome friends. I mentioned Trish last week in my blog when we went out on a photo field trip together. This week she had several of us over for a Valentine’s cookie exchange. Not only were there delicious cookies, but she had a spread of food and drink like I’ve never seen in one afternoon before! So delicious and had I not been on carpool duty to get the kiddos that afternoon, I would have definitely had a few more of these
Anyone who has been around me long enough knows I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day. No sob story, no jilting, just don’t care for it. I’d much rather get flowers and date nights on other days besides the one that EVERYONE is expected to do those things. However, when I saw these marshmallows in the commissary I couldn’t pass them up for the girls. And for a photo opportunity!
My feelings exactly on the current weather conditions and holiday.
Sigh. No explanation needed. Another day. Another blizzard.
