Before I get to the “meat” of the post, I want to tell you about a special sale at 3 Scrappy Boys. Heather, the owner, is donating 20% of sales until the end of the month to the Wounded Warrior Project. This program is near and dear to my heart and I and wholeheartedly in support of Heather’s efforts to give money to them. They do good work for very good people. I plan on making a big order this week myself! So please help support her and this great cause!
Now, onto November Instagram! Have you seen the new Web Instagram that came out last week?! Very cool set up and neat to see the photos on my computer screen versus my phone.
So we’ve already had a very busy November and it’s only mid month-phew. We started off with Marine Corps Ball numero uno. I was definitely looking forward to this one since lots of my friends would be there too. And this year I actually loved my dress:
And can we pause for a minute for a handsome man in uniform?!
Thank you! Just love this time of year and seeing my Marine all dressed up!
The downside of this ball? A half marathon I only half trained for and did not know it would be the day after a ball. Hmpf.
Lucky for me I had some amazing ladies to keep me company and there for moral support along 13 hilly miles:
The downside? No post race food and a post race sick Christa. No fun. Mental note: take food to all Japanese races!
With just 3 days separating events, we were off to our next ball:
Yep, I’m a one trick pony in the hair department! And I’m too cheap to go get it done so I digress.
Now that the weather is cooling off we’re getting out and exploring the area a lot more too!
First stop: Katsuren Castle Ruins
It was simply stunning. And we could see for miles at the top! I can’t wait to go back during the week with fewer people and take some great photos!
And with a long weekend we were off to the Okinawa Aquarium, which we learned is the 2nd largest in the world. Lots and lots of great fish for us to see! This little fella was definitely on our to see list:
There were 4 of those whale sharks in that giant tank.
And it’s not a Japanese playground without having something over the top in it. This one toted tons of climbing nets. This photo does not do the playground justice.
And it’s not an Okinawan sightseeing tour without some amazing views! This one from Pizza in the Sky:
Super excited for the rest of November via Instagram too – next up is a much anticipated trip to Hong Kong!
