Must. Keep. Going. – Project 365 Week 3
Seriously? Week 3 and I’m already struggling? Weak I tell you. Weak.
However, I took a photograph each and every day even in the eye of lack of inspiration. I’m hoping with more sunny skies this week and a new attitude that things will be better.
Lack of creativity hit me like a ton of Monday bricks last Monday. When that happens I normally turn to my Lensbaby lens and that fuels me. It did. For about a minute and a half! We have quite the seaglass and shell collection from our time in Okinawa so I paired that with my favorite doorway rug for some fun geometric shapes.
Sick call. And by sick call I mean that someone had a bit of a cough, somewhat sore throat and since we are not at a public school then that means any bit of “I don’t feel good” is a call to the parents! We had a fun day together though and this little one got to go lunch with the ladies after I picked her up!
(Still feeling the rut – more Lensbaby lens)
My family harasses me all the time about this and well, it’s true – I have a thing for old cemeteries. My thing for old cemeteries only exists during daylight hours though. I totally believe in “ghosts” so not enough money in the world to get me to visit here at night! This is the old cemetery outside Trinity Church here in Newport. The “S”/dollar sign struck me.
Can you believe that as of this writing (January 19th) we still have yet to have any snow to speak of here in Newport?! I figured we would be under inches and feet of snow by now, but so far only an inch at best. I’m not complaining since I really dislike cold and snow, but I have some families waiting on snow sessions and I’m ready to get to those! Today we had just a little bit of snow again and the contrast of snow on brown branches caught my eye.
Finally sun, glorious sun in this gray week!
This is hands down one of my favorite buildings in downtown Newport. Brick, combined with a mural, combined with a (not shown) awesome door on the front, combined with it being abandoned/closed makes my heart sing. Hoping before we move I can talk a family into going here for a photo shoot. So many ideas!
After a week of no creativity and lack of motivation photographically speaking, it was time to haul in the big dogs – flowers. When the Lensbaby doesn’t work, it’s time for flowers and my macro lens. Plus it helps make my musty house smell better and brightens up the cold gray days here!
