Knee Deep in December
I was just over at Sasha's blog where she had a holiday list up, with the last item being Enjoy The Process.
Love that. Really, really love it.
That's what I'm trying to do this year more than any other. Enjoy the baking, buying presents, business, and time with family and friends.
This year there is no deployment hanging over our head, there is no impending move, there is no waiting to find out if we might move, etc. That's a normal part of our existence, but it's nice for one holiday season not to wonder what might happen, which is a huge added stress.
Instead, I'm focusing on holiday spirit, doing my December Daily (um, please don't ask if I'm up to date because that's a big, fat NO!!), and kind of the cold, but not really!
Just a few things I'm appreciating this season (hint, hint: these will go in the December Daily that is far from updated!)
We enjoyed a Christmas concert last week that floored me. My oldest child. The one who is extremely embarrassed to get up in front of others. Got up in front of hundreds with the 3rd grade and sang her heart out! She's front, second from the flag. And when mom gets there right before start time then you end up with a wonderfully grainy photo!
They both decided they wanted a Pillow Pet and a Zhu Zhu Pet. Not exactly at the top of what I was going to get them, but we're on borrowed time with Maya for believing in Santa so off to Target I went yesterday!
Today is G-Day! While the girlies are at school I'll be getting out each and every gift to make sure all is accounted for and nothing was double bought. I already have a pair of PJs to return because I forgot I already had some-oops!
And today is also getthoseChristmascardsintheenvelopeWoman! Day.
