Holy Busy Week!
Everyone is so busy this week and we are no exception, but once again, it's a good busy. Traffic won't get me down, lines won't get me down and premier parenting while in stores won't get me down either! Because, you know, nothing screams holidays and peace more than screaming and threatening your own children in the toy aisle. We still have school until Wednesday, which is probably best considering my to do list and I'm not quite sure I would have enough activities to fill a full week before Christmas!
The in laws arrive on Wednesday when craziness will reign down on us! We'll be doing one of my favorite traditions on Wednesday I think: making roll out cookies-woohoo! These are my favorite and I love making them too. I think I get more excited than the girls do, and I'm pretty sure I eat way more than they do! I'm pretty sure I started sugar overload around 3 weeks ago, so why stop now, right?!
One of our other holiday traditions that we started a few years ago was making reindeer food on Christmas Eve for Santa's helpers. My sister did this when we were in Indiana several years ago and it has stuck. The girls love it and get excited to feed the reindeer out on the front lawn.
I made a layout about this tradition for the Pebbles blog this week. I had already scrapped my photos from last year so at first I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do for the blog. Then I went through all of my photos and saw these 2 that I still had and knew what I would do! And because I am a horrible, horrible holiday scrapper, I chose to go completely away from the green and red color scheme. I'm a rebel like that you know.
I made another holiday layout a few months ago using some of my favorite Christmas photos to date. We had a great living room/stairs set up at our base house in North Carolina where I could get photos of them coming down to see all the goodies Santa had left them. We don't have those stairs this year, but let's just say I'm in a better space, so it all equals out I think!
I'm putting this back up because it's a finalist over at Scrapbooks, Etc. magazine. You can go and vote here for my layout above. It's about 16-18 slides in, under ChristaLP. All votes are very much appreciated!!
Hope everyone is having an excellent week and taking all the stress in stride!
