This week on the Pebbles blog we’re covering all things summer, which is good for me because it’s summer weather here about 6-7 months out of the year. Living on a subtropical island has it’s advantages when you don’t like the cold weather.
I took a photo on our recent Memorial Day getaway that pretty much epitomizes summer for me and my family:
The beach and blue ocean of Okinawa. We are beach bound at least once a week and now that the girls are out of school we head to the beach even more often. We love it and know that we are blessed to be surrounded by water and beautiful beaches.
I turned this photo into my layout for the Pebbles blog yesterday.
The photo effect/cut was a happy little accident that I didn’t see as so happy at first! I had just switched out the printer cartridges and this was the first thing I printed afterward. Unfortunately it came out with vertical lines throughout the entire photo. I nearly had it in the trash when I figured I may as well see what it would look like if I cut it along all those lines and created a layout that way. I’m glad I did!
The “hello” flag is from a set of journaling cards (which PS are some of my favorite of Pebbles right now) and I decided to turn it into part of the title for my layout. I just added a bit of Silhouette cut for the rest of the title and ended up mostly liking how it all turned out!
Just as a reminder – tomorrow is the big launch of the summer issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today!! They are giving away 3 subscriptions by simply using the hashtag #sctmagazine on Twitter or Pinterest!
