Phew, October 20th and we have had quite an October already and we still have 11 days to go! You know it's going to be a doozy (but fun doozy) when in August you start looking at your calendar and see that there are only a few squares with nothing in them. But that's what I love about living here in Virginia. There's so much to do, versus down in North Carolina when we sat around and watched grass grow or helicoptors fly over, you get the point!
This past Saturday started with a fun run at the girls' school and it was a hit! Their PE teacher is just amazing and she started doing this fun run several years ago to promote childhood physical fitness. The kids love it and the adults love it too! And for our girls it's really neat because they go to races for mom and dad all the time and they think it's cool that they have their own number and they get to run the race! This year Ella got to run too and quite honestly I think she could have gone further than 1 mile because she was all over the place. Holy cow, she has the energy like no one I've seen before. Wait, I have seen that person and his name is D-A-D-D-Y
Before the big race:
And here they are coming in to the finish line:
Next up for the exact same day was our community fall festival. I think the highlight of the festival was the DJ, go figure! Normally it's that creepy guy who plays the Macarena for a fall festival, but this guy had games, fun music and he was a hoot to go with it! We couldn't stay for all of it, but did get to join in on a fun twist on the Chicken Dance!
And now I'm down to 11 days left before the biggest day in October! Foot is still painful, but not excruciating, but I'm ready to do it! And feeling even more inspired after reading Lisa D.'s post!
