Foggy Carnival – Stuttgart, Germany Family Photographer
To say the weather in Newport this past May was a little weird is an understatement. Perhaps it’s always like that, however I’ll never know and as those who know me are aware – I’m pretty ok with that! As usual there was lots of wind. There was a wee bit of warmth and for several days there was some thick, thick fog that would roll in each day. It was amazing to watch it creep across the bay like a hand reaching out.
The carnival came into town during the busy May tourist season as well. I had several shoots scheduled in May and was hoping against hope that someone would be on board with doing a fun family session there. I had never done a shoot somewhere like that and it was definitely on my lists of musts!
Thankfully my sweet neighbor and friend was on board. We started at the beach which, true to Newport fashion, was so crazy windy and cold that we had to huddle and make it quick before these wee ones were popsicles!
After completing the wind blown look we were off to the “festival fun” as Timothy referred to it! See that fog? Craziness…
I absolutely loved watching the kids get so excited about the games and winning their prizes. You know, those prizes that are broken before you get to the car?! But to a nearly 2 and 5 year old they are like little pieces of gold.
After a full day of attending a get together with friends, birthday parties and then letting a crazy photographer take family photos at a carnival full of overstimulation, Aaron and Christine win parents of the year. They were such troopers and so thankful they let me experiment. I just love this family and so thankful to have not only met them while we were in Newport, but also develop a friendship too. I miss those Monday afternoon life discussions with Christine so much. Thank you again!
