Coming To A Home Near You – Stuttgart Germany Family Photographer
My photography has evolved over the years, even long before I officially went into business. I always loved photographing the every day moments. My girls’ favorite toy, stuffed animal, sippy cup, etc. They are at an age now that they continually ask questions about what life was like when they were little. They love looking back at those photos and hearing the retelling of those shenanigans again and again!
I have done a few in home photography family sessions and have come to realize they are some of my favorites. I get to be involved in every day family life for someone else and capture those candid and routine moments for them.
One of the benefits of an in home family session is that I get to come to you and immerse myself in your daily routines. I’m on your turf, which is a huge benefit to children. They immediately get excited to show me their toys, their room, where they eat, etc. and even ask me to photograph certain things, which I find rarely happens on location!
After some time, the children especially almost forget I’m there. They go about playing, reading and getting dressed up without realizing I’m documenting the entire process. They can do this on their time and in their own way without me telling them where to stand, where to look, etc.
And another great feature of in home sessions are the genuine expressions and funny faces I can capture. Families tend to let lose a bit more in their own home, which results in genuine, real and sometimes pretty awesome photos capturing those awesome faces!
It does not matter one iota what type of housing you live in for an in home session. I’m not photographing your house. I’m photographing your family. Your relationships. Your routines. I have photographed both in base housing and in non base housing. I have a feeling of these photos, you would be hard pressed to figure out which were small or base housing and which were not.
In in home sessions I might place family members in better light while they play, but there is very, very little posing and moving, allowing families to interact more naturally. The other benefit of an in home session? We are absolutely not tied to weather! Both of these sessions were done on a rainy and snowy day. We went on as planned because having an indoor location did not damper the fun that the kids had and capturing all of that.
Even the family dog gets to do what he does best!
No, an in home session is not the way to go for every family and I do absolutely love going on location in absolutely beautiful light. However, it’s a genuine option, especially for those with small children, babies and for families looking to document family routine and relationships.
Although it is the middle of summer at the moment, those darker, shorter and weather impeding days will be upon us in a few months. An in home session is a great option for those months when getting outside for a couple of hours to smile for me isn’t always going to happen!
