I realized during our first fall here in Stuttgart that although we get color in the fall, it is here and gone very, very quickly! It’s beautiful and I try to take advantage as much as possible with our few short weekends of amazingness.
I was so fortunate to fit in this sweet, sweet family on one of the last weekends of color when I happened to have an opening at the last minute.
There’s a reason I ask families to bring toys, books and favorite things out to public places when we do shoots. It gives me some ammunition to get to know the finicky little ones when they aren’t so sure about the lady with the giant camera. It gives me questions to ask, things to play with while I fiddle with my camera settings and gives them a little piece of home out in a park or at a castle/palace.
I always put the dads to work too, which if I might be honest kind of gets them off the hook of “look and smile” and “pretend you like being out here with me doing photos” – haha! Tossing kiddos around and running around with them comes all too natural and quite honestly those are some of my very favorite photos. This is the life of family with young kids – tickling, wrestling, running and playing and it’s what I love capturing!
This little boy sure loves his mama and was all too willing to give her some kisses when I asked him to. I love the bond of boys and their mothers and there’s absolutely nothing like it.
I always reassure families that I get the grandma shot every shoot and will give them several to choose from in their gallery. I won’t lie; these aren’t my favorite shots, but I know all extended family members want them and they are great holiday card photos as well. Even with the smallest kiddos we get the framable shot each time.
I so enjoyed hanging out with Jacki and Luke and their precious kids at the always beautiful Killesberg Park. We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our spontaneous session in the park!
